Mmm, I don't normally have bread products for breakfast, but today, because we are out of cereal, I did.

Yummy crusty bread with butter and marmite. mmm.

The problem is I could eat a whole loaf of it.

what's wrong with bread? (genuine question). I eat it every day. I didn't realise it was meant to be bad.

It isn't bad. People who are into the whole GI thing will criticise white bread for being high-GI. But in fact white flour is fortified with calcium so it is good for you in that sense. And brown bread is full of fibre and vitamins.

I think some faddy diets that said no bread have kind of seeped into mass consciousness...

Bread simply doesn't agree with some peoples waistlines unfortunately. Just the way they are made. I could live on the stuff drooooooooool

Yum, bread and butter [drool]. Quite often I just eat bread and butter for lunch!

no, a white bloomer with proper butter and marmite is the bee's knees. AND has calcium and B vits.

I eat a slice of toast and vegemite to start my day mmmmm

then sensible porridge with ds

then another piece of toast when he goes down for morning nap.

right, you shower! I am typing one-handedly, cos the other hand has a lovely (very fattening) slice of buttered toast in it. I'm leaving this thread, because I now have BRIOCHE implanted in my head, too - dangerous stuff on a diet

I'm off to give blood now, so really I can justify the toast as a complete necessity...

oh yes carnival, you must balance your blood sugar levels...

(off to make some marmlade toast myself...)
