Aldi chicken bad quality

Is it just me? We buy A LOT of chicken. OH has a high protein diet and I batch cook a lot of casseroles, pasta etc.
The last few weeks I have noticed that the Aldi chicken breasts (all size packs) are SUCH poor quality. Really stringy, some bones still left. Even their pre packed stuff like the chicken en croute used to be much better quality. I used to avoid Tesco chicken because it so watery but now I might have to just give in and go to the butchers

We bought a free range whole chicken from Aldi on Saturday. My DW dissected it, making a stew with the carcass and wings. I am making a tomato based chicken and aubergine casserole today and I have marinated the breast meat for chicken tikka. I have never seen chicken fall apart like this, there is no way I could put it on skewers and grill it, the whole texture seems wrong.

I've been cooking Aldi free range for years with no issues. I've also bought several packs of breasts and cooked with them recently and they appear to be much as normal.

There is an issue with a lack of food processors and whole barns of chickens are having to be gassed because of this ( rural area here and friends who tips chickens) Also there's a carbon dioxide shortage which is normally used to package meat and give it a longer shelf life.

Thirdly the chicken in Aldi is pretty much the same as all the other shops. Even m&s chicken all comes from the same processing plants. The different shops just stick their own labels on.

@Fferny1 Yes I’ve been buying Aldi meat for a long time also, to be fair I occasionally buy from Tesco but I don’t think it’s as good.

I assumed it was something to do with the processing as one pack I used on Monday basically had the whole breast bone still stuck to it. I suppose if there aren’t enough workers to keep up with demand then it makes sense that it’s being processed and packed very quickly
