HI all, am having four friends round to my garden this weekend for a catch up. We will all be wrapped up in hats gloves scarves and full on coats. In normal circs I'd have lots of nibbles etc on offer to soak up the booze, but obvs this is not the case this time round. I need ideas for easy warming food that is easy to serve and easy to eat - There won't be a table outside as we will all be around a fire pit trying to keep warm! I was thinking maybe a bowl of chilli each or similar?

How about jackat potates halves, filled with chilli and topped with cheese. Or little new potates done the same way but bite size. Mini yorkshire puddings filled with stew/goulash/riadt beef. Do you like to cook? I've having some friends round outside as well and just starting to think what to do, but I love to cook and like to think of something a bit different.

But I might do a pork roast and have hot pork sandwiches with roast potatoes.

Hi these are great ideas. I’m not much of a cook tho so it needs to be simple, easy, but look and taste great! 😉

Pie and peas, maybe a northern think, but good quality pork pies warmed up in oven serve with mushy peas and mint sauce.

Burgers in brioche buns with potato wedges.

Pulled pork sandwiches, either buy it ready prepared, or buy a shoulder of pork, cook it in a slow cooker all day, fork through and add bbq sauce.

(can you tell I'm bored at work!!!!)

Another vote for pie and peas, the ultimate outdoor food.
or
Hot sausage or black pudding and bacon sandwiches.

I'd probably do a slow cooker hotpot/casserole during the day so everyone can grab a bowl of that, plus there's no prep for you at the time which should be helpful!
