Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a cake-like recipe for a child who is dairy free, gluten free and soya free. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I don't specifically have a recipe like this, but I would suggest making a mayonnaise cake and subbing in gf flour. (I have made cakes like this before but I am a disloyal baker and rarely make the same thing twice!) Doves Farm usually gives reliable results. Here is an example: www.weknowstuff.us.com/2013/06/hellmanns-gluten-free-chocolate-cupcakes.html

Some mayonnaise contains soya so just look out for that

I just follow a 'normal' recipe and use stork block (or the supermarket own brand equivalent) which are both dairy free to replace the butter. Some of the cheap supermarket spreads are dairy free also and they make nice sponges. We like Doves gluten free flour. If a recipe calls for milk I usually use oat milk instead. Most people can't tell the difference! And I can't think I've come across a recipe that includes soya, only tend to find that in shop bought cakes. Alternatively you could search for cakes that use oil, but I prefer to substitute as above! X

Nigellas lemon polenta cake, subbing light olive oil for the butter. I've done this a few times for g/f and d/f and always works out lovely. I don't think there is any soya in any of the other ingredients

I’d use an olive oil cake recipe and substitute the flour for gluten free flour. Can eggs be used or not?
