We’re having a Christmas catch up soon and I’d like to make a festive croquembouche. The last time I made one I didn’t use anything for stability beyond half a pan of caramel and it was a bit squint.
I really don’t want to buy a croquembouche cone if I can help it, both because I’m tight and lacking on storage. Has anyone any ideas on something that might be an adequate substitute?
Google suggests A1 cardboard in a cone shape which feels like asking for trouble. Knowing me it will ping open and fling choux buns across the room
