Can anyone recommend a rice cooker?

My kids love Uncle Bens rice pouches and the jasmine rice in Pho but are quite indifferent when it comes to the rice I cook so thought I might give a rice cooker a go. Can anyone recommend one?

I have an amazing Joseph Joseph one that goes in the microwave. Not bulky like an electric rice cooker, but makes great rice.

I've got the JJ as well, & would recommend it.

We bought a Zojirushi - some Japanese friends have one - and it makes the most amazing rice. It's big so lives in a cupboard when we're not using it but other than a small food processor it's the only electrical kitchen gadget we've got; we just love rice so it has been a good investment although it seemed v pricey at the time.

I have a Tefal 4 in one rice cooker / slow cooker / steamer / porridge maker and it is fabulous

Not sure if they make them to the same spec as I've had mine a few years. I use it 2/3 times per week at least.

You can also warm mulled wine in it Grin

Another vote for the Joseph Joseph one, great rice every time and it's good for porridge too.

Sistema microwave rice cooker. We put it on 750w for 15 minutes. Usually 1 full mug of rice, 2 mugs of water, teeny stir to even out the rice. Microwave.

That is for long grain rice and also basmati. Same measurements, same cooking time.

We have used it for about 3 year and eat rice twice a week.
