How to alter a recipe

I have a lovely scone recipe, I want to change them to orange and cranberry. Not 100% sure how to do it though. Any advice would be much appreciated

Throw in cranberries and some orange zest, voilà!

It’s only an issue if you want to add an ingredient that will make the mixture wetter or release fluid when cooking.
