Hi.

Throwing my DD (aged 8) a small birthday party. Usually the Mrs. organizes it, but i told her that I would like to do it this year.
Was thinking simple finger sandwiches and snacks.

Any suggestions for sandwiches or snacks?

Please help :)

I always give each kid their own picnic bag. 2 small sandwiches. 1 ham. 1 jam. A drink. Crisps. Satsuma. Sugarie treat. Then they get a piece of cake. Hardly any waste and you can prepare it all beforehand. Add to the bag party hooter, party banger. Then lift any salvageable leftovers and roll the rest up in the table cloth and bin it. Job. Done.

The kids.dont care about the food, its just a distraction from whatever fu n stuff theyre doing so keep it simple

Think about dietary requirements of the group, if you have several vegetarians then it might be easier to stick to a vege menu.

Lunch bags or boxes are great and can be easily marked if you have a gluten free/nut free meal.

If its an at home party with around 10 kids then pizza, wedges, garlic bread, and some salad is an easy and popular option. Just bing it in e oven and itll be done in 20 mins.

I usually serve mini pizzas instead of sandwiches.
Bowls of cherry tomatoes
Babybel or cheese-strings
Individual packets of popcorn
Bowls of grapes
Jammy dodgers
Fairy cakes or mini muffins

Another vote for pizza and garlic bread, a few carrot and cucumber sticks. Birthday cake and a selection of individual ice creams/ice lollies. Less faff and less waste.

Crisps

I see a lot of reoccurring themes with vegetable sticks. My DD doesn't normally like a dip, but not sure about the others. I was thinking maybe a hummus dip or a cream cheese dip.

Any suggestions?
