Has anyone made Leiths Malt loaf? A question on malt?

I got malt malt and it was fabulous

It's even better now at a few days old!

I don't know if chemist's shops still stock malt. They used to.

If it's the recipe that came up on Google, then you need the malt syrup from a health food shop.
There are probably recipes out there that use horlicks powder too, but sadly you can't just swap them, (although I might be tempted to sub in some syrup or honey and add a couple of tablespoons of horlicks instead of the couple of tablespoons of the flour. Only if I was ok with it possibly going wrong, so i would need to serve it with custard to teenage boys to get it used up)grin

I made Gary Rhodes malt loaf, I used malt in a jar from Holland and Barratt.

I couldn't find any in the shops but admittedly I've not looked in a health shop.
Have text MIL to see if she has any as I want to make the malt loaf this am with niece.
Could I use Horlicks instead or do I need to make a trip to a holland and Barrett or simmilar?
