I am making this but have increased the quantities to 500g flour and am making it in two of these tins because I don’t seem to be able to find my 8” cake tins after moving house.

Just in the oven at 160 degrees, would you cook it lower than that and how long for. Swish new oven and I don’t know it well, I am just using the top/bottom heat not fan.

I can’t mess it up Grin have promised to make it for tomorrow!

Same heat & just check it after the same amount of time. If, spread out, it would be the same depth as in the smaller tin then the cooking isn’t going to be different. Just check & put it back in for an extra 5 mins if it isn’t quite tight

Thanks, I don’t know why I bought two of those rectangular tins, they scare me! Hence they haven’t been used more than once I guess.

Don't be scared about those tins, they are easy to use. It is just that they are better to be used for the sort of recipe they are designed for. Try 'Googling' Traybake Recipes, you will see that there are many, many cakes to chose from. It is great for Brownies.

If your cake is bigger than the recipe I’d maybe cover with foil so the top doesn’t burn before the middle cooks.
