The first picture is just slices of cucumber with cream cheese, salmon and topped with dill.

The second picture is mini oatcakes topped with pate and herbs or a twist of black pepper. If you can't mini oatcakes, use Ritz crackers or blini (available from most large supermarkets).

Third picture is prawns on guacamole on a potato crisp or cracker. I'd sprinkle with chilli flakes or dust with paprika.

They look lovely @Ricekrispie22.

On cocktail sticks:
Cubes of, red pepper, and emmental;
Mozzarella balls (or cubes of mozzarella) , cherry tomatoes drizzled with pesto

Sticky cocktail sausages are quick & easy

The most popular canapé I do is basically a tiny cheese toastie. Make in a pan then chop up into tiny squares and place on a baking tray to be reheated when needed. No end of fillings possible, cheddar and mango chutney, Brie and bacon, basil, mozzarella and tomato etc. No matter how many fancy canapés I do these always go first.

Awesome ideas. How much in advance can I make the blinis? Can I store them like pancakes/crêpes?

Agree. I do all of RiceKrispies ones too. On the oatcake put salmon pate and a prawn

@AtleastitsnotMonday I’ve not heard of cheddar and mango chutney, does sound fab. Do you make the mango chutney yourself or is it store bought?

@AtleastitsnotMonday can you expand on how you make your mini toasties? They sound delish!

Ok mini toasties.
Butter one side of 2 slices of bread, flip slices over and fill with grated cheese and chutney, Brie, crispy bacon and cranberry sauce, or what ever other filling you fancy. Cut the crusts off and fry on both sides until golden. If you have a good non stick pan there is no need to add additional oil, the butter on the outside of the bread is sufficient to fry. Remove from the heat and leave to stand for a moment to firm up. Then cut into 16th’s with a really sharp knife (so the cuts are clean). Lay on a baking sheet and warm through in the oven when you are ready to serve.
I’m afraid a buy my mango chutney but the work just as well with caramelised onion chutney or beetroot and horse radish chutney which I do make myself.

@Ricekrispie22 Thanks for the link 👍 I was wondering if you have any other filling suggestions for those mini yorkies? Perhaps some sticky cocktail sausages sliced thinly with some crème fraiche? Oh and do you think @AtleastitsnotMonday’s fab filling ideas for cheese toasties might work for the mini yorkies?

Borscht shots with sour cream, chicory leaves with pear and blue cheese, smoked mackerel pate on mini toasts, olive penguins.
Soup shots always look a bit fancy but are dead easy. If you want something boozy, try bullshot cocktail or bloody Mary in disposable shot glasses.

Also anything on little mini skewers, mini disposable forks or Chinese soup spoons tends to look more special somehowGrin

Feta filo rolls - mash up some feta cheese with a splash of olive oil and as much fresh herbs as you can get your mitts on - whatever mixture you fancy but make sure there's some mint in there. Make rolls on a double layer of buttered filo pastry cut into sixths and bake for 20 mins at 180c.
