I want a recipe that is easy and I can adapt to put other bits in. (At the moment I still have some limes to use up) Gotta go & do school run now, but will be back later to see if any of you have got any ideas for me. Thanks!

yep, easy peasy.

1 3/4 mugs (decent builders tea size) of self raising flour, 3/4 mug sugar, block of hard margarine (not butter, stork or similar) 1 egg to bind
obv rub in, and use egg to bind... add stuff as you want, suggested adds include: custard powder (1 tablespoon) cocoa (ditto) sultanas, chopped cherries, etc etc.
When you have the base mixture you could divide it up and add different stuff according to your taste
The mix is quite dry and only uses the egg to bind. Thats normal.
Roll out thinly and bake in a hot oven but keep an eye they burn quick!!!
