Gingerbread disasaaaaaaaaaster!

So last night (I was out) DD and a couple of friends decided to make a gingerbread house, she's perfectly able to make cakes and biscuits so I thought she'd be ok.

I forgot gingerbread is a different technique and they managed to stuff it up completely. They thought it was too greasy and crumbly so added more flour then left it to cool!

The upshot is a huge bowl of very sandy mix, it's a bit like biscuit crumbs or shortbread before it comes together.

I am loath to throw it away as it's such a waste but I don't think it's salvageable as gingerbread.

Any ideas what it could be used for? All I can come up with is making truffles with chocolate and condensed milk but no one needs that many truffles (even at Christmas).

Any other ideas?

Or, apple or rhubarb and ginger crumble, with this as topping?

Some kind of gingerbread crumble? I think it would be great on an apple crumble with some crystallised ginger in.

Crumble! Excellent idea as it would use up heaps. I reckon I have enough for about 3 crumbles or 10 cheesecakes! (Ok, probably exaggerating slightly Grin ).
