Is there a minimum order value to access the flash sales? I've just checked out an order for $50 and not been offered anything...

I don't think there is a minimum spend but I tend to be offered more flash sales the closer it is to the actual delivery date. So if you have ordered, for example, for next week, you may not be offered anything as they don't know yet what they will need to sell off at that time. Try going back in nearer the time to edit your order and check out again, and you may have more luck.
