Just that really. I can't get hold of cornmeal, but have polenta (not the ready made-up stuff). Can I just use that? It's ground corn...

I’ve made that recipe - it’s lovely.

I’m not 100% sure but tbh given, as you say it’s ground corn I can’t see why it wouldn’t work.

I’d certainly give it a whirl.

Yep - they are the same thing. It isn't the quick cook stuff though right?

I'm sure in another book she says polenta and cornmeal are basically interchangeable.

Thanks. I've just checked and it's labelled 'express polenta'. Takes 8 minutes to make as normal polenta. Hmm, now not sure if that is going to work?

Where do you good people get cornmeal?

The World Foods aisle of the supermarket - in Tesco this is the one I get www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/255575078 but there is also this one www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/afro-caribbean/dunns-river-fine-cornmeal-500g

Thanks - I've now got the one you linked to.
