recipes for teens?

Inspired by a friend, I'm making a cookbook for my ds, 16 so he doesn't have to live on toast and cereal. It includes basics like how to cook rice and pasta, omelettes, tomato sauce etc, but I wondered if anyone has some good simple cheap-ish recipes their kids like to make? He eats everything (generally in large quantites!).

These are good ideas! Forgot about cheese sauce, so useful. How do you make Quesadillas? Not sure what they are Blush
I'll put a basic meat sauce in that he could adapt for bolognaise and chilli. Thank you!

Google quesadillas and it’ll make sense. They are a bit like toasted wraps.

Eggy bread! I used to live off that.....
Jacket potatoes and fillings also good cheap filling thing. Actually, all these ideas are fab. I'd also forgotten about stir fry, which he loves...

Roast chicken and chicken/stew pie made with the leftovers. Really cheap when you spread it across all the meals you can make.

My 4 year old loves making pizza. Pizza base is very straightforward. Just flour, yeast and water.

Put in a page about how to do a sofrito with onion, garlic and/or celery and how that can be turned into almost anything by chucking in peppers or mushrooms or tomatoes or cream …
