Looking for a quick and easy date cake? At work, someone used to always bring them in but she never shared the recipe lol. And now she's gone sad But the cakes were ever so nice and chewy and a little moist. TIA tbusmile

Ooh yum I'd love this. I don't have a recipe but will try and find one.

Here's one from BBC Good Food.

this recipe is from the hairy bikers mum's know best book. i've made this cake a few times and it is lovely , it keeps well if you wrap it up in greaseproof paper. people have compared it to a rich christmas cake. i'm making this again as part of a cake sale that i'm having this week.

I read the title as a cake you'd take on a date! Sounds lovely though.

Flapjacks might be nice with cut up dates in them

Wow that's a lot of dried fruit. It sounds nice though but more for winter.

Will bookmark the recipe though.
