All I've made is bolognese...

I'm overwhelmed with all the complicated recipes and American recipes online. I just need some basic recipes for things like curries, stews etc.

Or does anyone know of any uk based online resources or books?

Thanks

I like the Jamie chili here, the chicken pot from Organix here

If you make a big bolognese, use it in a lasagne later in the week.
I often roast a chicken as a 'one pot' meal too.

Hi, have you joined the Instant Pot® UK Community on Facebook? You'll find lots of recipes with familiar measurements and ingredients there in the files as well as lots of inspiration from the members

I just do my own thing with the instant pot. A few rules to remember for stews are: don't add too much liquid, if you are going to use thickener do it at the end because starch in the mixture tends to stick during cooking and burn onto the bottom sometimes, and wash the lid and sealing ring each time because smells and flavour tend to linger there.

I also use it for cooking seville oranges before slicing them for marmalade and it saves time and effort.

I tend to do my own thing too using the guidelines in the manual. I didn't know there was a UK community, I tried the global one and didn't get on with it.

Thanks all. I'll have to experiment then. I'm not on Facebook and don't particularly want to be, but maybe I'll use dp's account to note down some ideas. I think chilli will be next as I'm sure I can't go far wrong there!

I love chilli, smothered in soured cream and topped with grated cheese.
Chicken cooked in white wine sauce.
Chicken, chorizo, prawns, with things like sliced peppers, red onion, tomatoes, courgette, cooked in passata, with Harissa paste, smoked Paprika.

Pea & mushroom risotto - it's an American recipe though as is the butter chicken curry one I use.
risotto
For the curry you'll need to Google "Instant Pot Butter Chicken" as it won't let me link it. It's the "My Heart Beets" one. Substitute passata for tomato sauce.
The Hairy Bikers 30 minute diet recipe book has a few pressure cooker recipes. The daal is lovely - do it a lot (too often for ds!)
I also do their goulash from one of their other diet books but reduce the stock.
You can do a lot of stews etc that you would do on the hob / oven but just reduce the liquid and the cooking time. ie the goulash I do for about 45 mins - recipe is about 2 hours and cut down the stock.

I have two easy meals I can make in a flash using just tins. I always make sure I have these tins in my cupboard.

Veggie chilli: 1 can chopped tomatoes, 1 can of kidney or mixed beans in a spicy sauce, 1 can of green lentils (drained) put together in a saucepan, mix and heat up. Add extra chilli powder if you want it hotter. Serve with rice, a baked potato or nachos and cheese grated on top (and a blob of sour cream if you like).

Tuna pasta salad: one can of tuna drained in a bowl. Add one can of mixed bean salad in a dressing, add cooked pasta and a blob of mayo. Mix and voila!

Anyone else have any recipes like this? I'd love to expand my tin-tastic repertoire!!
