Turkey crown cooking times

I have family round today and am cooking a turkey crown. I never cook turkey but wanted to try brining so talked DH into it.

I used nigella and see she has fast but short cooking times but for whole birds. Does this work for crowns too? It's a Tesco bird so will have less fat than the ones nigella talks about. Anyone know?

I always find crowns cook more quickly than you standard turkey...the meat will be much moister as a result, and esp if you have done the brining

Are there no times on the label?

Google says 20mins per kilo, plus 70 mins, but ime you probably won't need the extra time unless you like it dry as a bone

I always test for meat done-ness with a metal skewer/slim knife...poke it right into the deepest bit of the meat, leave it in for about 10-15 seconds then whip it out and test the temp on your lip/inside of wrist
warm= okay for beef, but anything else probably wants at least another half hour
hot=done for lamb/pork/chicken/turkey provided the juices are clear
lava hot= hot enough to leave a mark you should have taken it out of the oven an hour ago.

Also don't forget a biggish joint of anything really benefits from a rest..warm place in the kitchen, set it on a warm plate, cover with foil, let it sit for about an hour.
