I'm having friends round for pizza at wmthe weekend. Home made but casual get together.

I like a bit of kitchen faff. What sides or accompanying dishes would folks suggest?

TIA

Cheesy garlic bread
Potato wedges/potato skins/chips/baked potatoes
Salad in seperate bowls so people can make their own
Coleslaw
Potato salad
Sour cream dip
Onion rings

You could do brushetta if it's a sit round a table thing

I would basically do Pizza, potato item, garlic bread and then salad people can put together themselves and dips and Coleslaw/potato salad

Then lots of nice picky bits for dessert, tiny portions so you can have a bit of everything or a few pieces of one

I am often tempted by these wild garlic butter music paper bread though I have not yet got round to making them myself! :)

Definitely garlic bread of some sort.

It sounds like a lovely and relaxed idea. I hope you have fun :)

Make a lovely home made garlic bread
Lidl paninis, halved, drizzled with olive oil and crushed garlic. Toast for a couple of minutes, add sliced mozzarella, grill again, scatter with fresh basil and balsamic glaze.

Is it going to be eating with a knife and fork, or fork and fingers?

I like pizza portioned so I can eat it without cutlery, so I'd go for coleslaw, rice vegetable salad and small baked potatoes, cut in half, a little flesh scooped out and some finely chopped spring onion garnish in the well.
