Which Vitamix?!
(7 Posts)I've been desperate for one for years. Amazon is having a discount day today (£10 off orders over £50) and am contemplating getting one.
But there are so many! Which model?
I have a vitamix aspire. It's brilliant and I use it often. I've made soups, nut butters, smoothies, flour, ice cream etc. There are different jug sizes and, as it's just for me, I have a 1400ml one. It also fits on my counter top under the cupboards (which is probably why it gets used more often - out of sight, out of mind). So I'd look at how many people it will be used for and where you want to put it and go with the right size for your needs.
lettherebepeace - Ooh the Aspire sounds like the right size for me too- though I cook for more than just me, I'm the smoothie fiend ☺
I love that you can make soups in it. Is it as easy as everyone says? How easy is it to clean etc?
They do different sized jugs. My DM has a much bigger jug than mine and I think the base unit is the same. Soups are easy peasy though I would follow some recipes to begin with as you sometimes need to put things in the right order - I've made some minging soups when experimenting hehehe! But think I have the hang of it now after trying a few recipes. It's also really easy to clean - just a drop of washing up liquid and a bit of water, put the jug back in the base and wizz it up. Don't get the bottom of the jug wet though as the metal bits can rust. There must be some youtube vids that will show you how to clean - i learned from seeing a demo at a food related show/conference type thing. You'll never need a dairy ice cream fix again after trying frozen banana ice cream - I make it with frozen berries and dark choc whenever I have a craving for something sweet - it's so good and healthy!
Marking place...I want one too!
Ooh that ice cream sounds amazing LetThereBePeace! Thank you for the tips on cleaning it too.
Ooh interested in this too. I've read loads a about the 5300 but can't seem to find it in the U.K. Is it an US only thing does anyone know?
