Friends coming over for food tomorrow. Neither of them fussy eaters, no vegetarian or allergies. Having a complete inspiration fail when it comes to what to cook.

Ideas???

This is fab www.homemadebyyou.co.uk/recipes/main-courses/beef-and-porcini-stew-with-rosemary-tomato-and-chianti

I have made it with loads of buttery mash or with wet polenta (loads of Parmesan and butter) and green beans. Means you can spend more time with your guests as most is done up front.

Also www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/beefstroganoffwithma_71568 just chuck it together at the last minute but I usually serve with rice and thinly sliced gerkins.

Delia's luxury fish pie - here. Lovely, and you can get it all done in advance.

I find for pudding sticky toffee or profiteroles are always popular
Or a cheesecake as then it's simply slicing and plating
This one is really good with some coulis

I'm a big fan of panna cotta , or a really good creme brulee , with berries on the side. Depends on how 'heavy' the main dish is though.

I made this Nigella choc pudding at the weekend. It was a huge success and I'm a savoury cook normally!

I like to do a sort of Spanish Stew. It's super simple but always goes down well:

Fry some Chorizo and onion
Tip in a tin of cannalini beans and some stock
Plonk a white fish on top.

When the fish is cooked, serve with crusty bread.
Sometimes I buy some tapas as a starter to go with it
