what to freeze smoothies in?

I've come across a lot of people storing smoothies in mason jars on Pinterest, but that's totally impractical for someone that needs a smoothie on the school run! I've also come across my pouch but that seems too small for adult use. Any alternatives? I want to be able to just get one out of the freezer the night before, and grab it out of the fridge in the morning - no messing about with blenders at silly o'clock!

Any ideas?

Freezer bags. It will have defrosted by morning, so just pour into a cup and go!

Ooo I've never thought of doing this. I use tip and zip bags from home bargains that I use for home made sauces so would be good for this. Could you make a weeks worth and put them in freezer. If you can I will be so happy, I love smoothies for breakfast but rarely have them because of the faff.

I use yoghurt in them don't know if this affects the quality once defrosted?

You can do a weeks worth easily (as long as I can get space for it). Yoghurt should freeze fine - I've done frozen yoghurt a fair few times before. I'd really rather portion it up beforehand - I'm not sure how I can do it in 250ml portions?

Weigh it into freezer bags. My kitchen scales do ml but just weigh 250g if yours don't.

The bags i use have the measurements on the side. I pour, seal and flatten. They're not the cheapest bags but you can stand them up while you pour in and flatten when done. Plus i wash them once or twice to get longer out of them.

I could kiss you for this idea though i freeze everything dont know why i have never thought of it before!

Also when I freeze my smoothies/sauces, I just stuff them into any available crevice in the freezer. They make for some interesting frozen shapes, but don't have to be pretty!

What about actual smoothie lollies? Quite popular in our house.

DH just got one of those Breville Smoothie to go things. He fills the to go container the night before, pops it in the fridge, then it takes literally 15 seconds to screw it in blend and go the next morning.

I freeze iced coffees in those milk bottle with tops with straws through (got them in waitrose). As long as you leave space for the drink to expand as it freezes, it's fine. I pop it in a sandwich bag just in case.

I'd 2nd zip-lock bags. I used to freeze baby mush in them too.
