was it a free range or organic chicken? If not then yes, it probably was essence of shit

don't go veggie, just buy the best meat you can afford from a good butcher little and often.

Oh, you should always wash out a chicken, organic , ordinary or blessed by the pope!
one I got from tescos still had chicken shit in it.

They suck up the guts with a vacuum type thingie. generaly it is all very efficient.

Small bits, however, might be missed....shouldn't be but might be. Basic food prep, youshould was out a chicken before you cook it

I wash and shake out the inside. I dab the outside with kitchen roll.

I'm fairly sure tat the wee label on the outside says to wash them out.

My mother always insisted

now i thought that washing a chicken out was vetoed nowawdays because of the risk of contaminating your prep area. Surely the heat of the oven and duration of cooking kills any nasties ?

zippitippitoes · 25/01/2007 08:19

but the poo presumably becomes tasty essence of poo?

Don't think my Mum ever washed them out. But this has nicely put me off my toast.

NDP, it think it was more to remove the possibility of eau de Merde de Poulet

I do it over the sink (wash out the bird nown else!) I also have a raw =meat board so my prep area is still oK

Once you have discovede one shitty bird, yo'll wash em out.....trust me!
