Basil plant - how to keep?

OK, so I bought a basil plant a month ago in Aldi. It's thriving on my kitchen windowsill and every so often I take a stem and put the leaves in bolognese.

However, it's now getting bushy so I guess I need to cut off some of the stems. Which ones do I get rid of?

Any advice great fully received!

It's good it's bushy! You should pick the basil from the tips of the stems, to allow it to bush out.

Any bare or yellow stems you can cut at the base.

I am impressed that you have kept it going so long!

Thank you. Me too - I usually kill plants. It sits on the south facing window sill and every 2 days or so I just stick it overnight soaking in the sink. It smells lovely!

Thanks for the tips.
