I made a bean salad with

Cucumber
Tomatoes
Spring onions
Chickpeas
some pink beans that look like kidney beans but not as dark
Added olive oil and chilli
Salt and pepper

It's rank Confused

What can I turn it into so I don't waste all the ingrediants?! I have a slow cooker... Can I just throw it in there will tin of toms and some spices and make it into a bean chilli?

What's rank about it? If you pick the cucumber out you do have plenty of things that wouldn't be out of place in a chilli there.

Is it dressing that's the problem or any of the individual ingredients?

It sounds fine to me so we really need to know what you don't like about it.

A bit of brown sugar might just help to lift it. The supermarket bean salads do tend to be quite sweet. A bit of balsamic could also add sweetness and a little tang.

Can't see how it could be rank, with those ingredients, even if it's not quite what you wanted. Try adding a good squeeze of lime juice and some fresh herbs, if you have any. Coriander would work.

Fresh Mint or a little mint sauce?

Great ideas, thank you! I think a bit of balsamic and mint would have gone down well. I have made it into a chilli now though :D

Lemon juice and up the salt and pepper ratio, fresh ground pepper and sea/rock salt not table salt. Fresh coriander, mint or parsley if you've got some.
