DD eating infront of telly

DD 2years is eating it all by herself with no fuss. We only ever get that when we eat out. The rest of the time she messes around LOTS. Is this such a bad thing?

It depends entirely on whether or not you care, IMO!

Well we eat in front of the tv when we eat at home. I don't want her to do it all the time. So I guess I need to restrict it.

I'm against it but then it's me and I'm French, so a meal is somewhat a sacred family moment. Big no no on my house

We do it every weekend either on Friday or Saturday (or both) in front of a vid/ xfactor/ robin hood.

But it's a treat, not the norm.

We eat in front of the TV all the time at the moment.. because our dining room is full of tools, and boxes, and the table is in bits in the corner waiting for my Carpenter DP to put it up

I think it might be a while before we manage my dream of a civilised meal around the table

My kids eat in front of TV, when we don't all get chance to eat together. they actually eat better cos not mucking about. If you are happy with it, don't worry.

Sorry, have just re-read my post and realised i was just rambling, what i actually meant to say was if you are o.k about it then dont worry too much, as it could be worse

My kids ate in front of the telly once, when DH was away, and I was worn out. It worked well as a special "treat", but I certainly wouldn't have it as a regular thing ...

Agree, Sheraz.

I'm quite chilled. If dh is home, we eat around the table. If dd 3 wants to get down after 5 min/rejects food whatever, she is allowed to. If dh is not home, we eat in front of TV, because it is easier for me to keep dd and baby happy and calm that way.

nursery is strict with dd at mealtimes. she knows the difference. she is allowed leeway at home.

Having 4 nearly 5 kids it's easier for mine to sit at the table but if it's fish and chips ect... then we get a big sheet out for the floor and they all sit there
Breakfast is always at the table unless its toast coz they take soooooo long o eat it and it maske school rush even worse.
