Oh wise ones, tell me is it possible NEVER to visit a supermarket again?

And still feed a family sensibly? I'd like to try never to darken any of their doors again. Can it be done?

No prizes for anyone who says yes, if you get it delivered.

I don't understand

do you mean you only want to shop in local shops / farms etc

or do you mean you want to do online supermarket shopping

either way both are possible and can be quite pleasurable

i want to give up spending money in supermarkets and their damnably easy home delivery alternatives....

i go to our monthly farmer's market and end up coming home with poncey cheeses and numerous varieties of marinated olives. i am prepared to try harder

I think you could MM.

I am not a supermarket fan.
My mother read me a quote yesterday (can't remember who by) but it was something along the lines of
'The way you spend your money speaks volumes about the kind of society you want to live in.'

Well,I don't want to live in a society controlled by Tesco et al.

I go in occasionally as I think it is also foolish to consider them to be the root of all ills.
I consider them to be one of my options for shopping as opposed to the only one.

I have often thought along those lines but easier thought than done!

I really admire you trying and can really relate to the famrers market thing. I think a major factor is time - as supermarkets have everything in one place - you will need to be prepared to trawl around a bit and invest in an oh-so-chic shopping trolley!
