urgent question about chicken...

ive just roasted a chicken that had to be used by today however theres some leftovers that i was going to chuck into a stew for tommarrow do you think it would be safe to use if its a day out of date?

Yes, I'm sure it will be fine. There must be a huge safety margin when they set the dates. To be honest, I never look at dates. If it smells fine, I'll use it.

its been cooked since so yes i would use it 2mo now its been roasted, maybe even the day after that if it still smelled and looked fine

I agree with the others, you will be fine for at least a couple of days. Just heat it up really thoroughly.

Gone off chicken smells WRONG

you would have known if it was off

(By the way, I always give raw chicken a good SNIFF before I cook it - you will get to know the smell and then you will always know if it's ok or not)
