Could anyone give me some ideas of what I can easily make for both a 3 year old GS and just over a year old GS. I'm a long distance granny and they are coming on Christmas Eve during the day and staying until after latish lunch on Christmas Day. I think what I am asking for is: something quick for lunch on CE plus tea. Breakfast is easy on Christmas day but do you have any suggestions of pick and mix type things just for them (while we are enjoying the fizz and more interesting nibbles!) I need something that will keep them "interested" until we have lunch at approx. 1.30 pm. DD needs to leave around about 3.00 pm to head back to the wilds of Sussex!

TIA

Houmous and cucumber/peppers/carrot?

Cheese straws/scones are usually a fave in our house.

Cubed cheese and raisins.

I give my DGS lunch once a week- he is 2 . It usually involves scrambled egg as he adores it - it may be with baked beans and toast, or salad and bread and butter- quick and easy. Or another favourite is pasta with almost any sauce . For nibbles as pp suggested - bread sticks/ savoury scones ( I make vegetable muffins which are very popular, and freeze well. Grapes, cherry tomatoes and dairylea chunks - messy those though :)

by 3, mine would ignore children's food a and go for the grown ups 'interesting nibbles'. olives, humous, anchovies, blue cheese... all preferable to whatever they had made for them.

My DS is 2 and a half and loves a picnic which in our house is a plate of picky foods. Ideas are cold meat slices, cubes of cheese, crackers with pate or peanut butter, breadsticks, slices of boiled egg, mini sausages, cucumber slices, carrot sticks, grapes, strawberries, tortilla wraps etc

Mine like cheese or fruit as snacks. Maybe chop up some watermelon/ cheese cubes/ mini breadsticks.

Otherwise unless your planning something bizarre for adults for meals I would just offer what your having. My 3 year old wouldn't eat anything between breakfast, and lunch at 1.30pm, so just a few nibbles should be plenty

I have those age children. If you give them a tupperware box each or set out separate bowls and let them pick what they want it will go down a storm.

Tomato, grapes, cucumber, strawberry, little cheese biscuits, cheese on toast cut into little squares and wrap them a banana each on Christmas wrapping oapers

Pasta / omeltte / baked potatoes & beans or cheese for the meal? (Can get low salt sugar ones)

Cream cheese sandwiches works for any occasion.

Fruit, flapjacks, crudities, mini sausages for snacks.

Have fun!!
