We are going to a funeral and I've been asked to make some cupcakes for the gathering afterwards. I'm a bit of a baking novice so was wondering if anyone had a simple, fool proof cup cake sponge recipe for just plain vanilla please. Thank you

To make approx 24 - 250g each of self-raising flour, Stork, caster sugar. 1 teaspoon baking powder, splash vanilla extract, 4 large eggs.
Using electric whisk/ stand mixer, mix sugar and Stork. Add eggs one by one, mixing between. Add sifted flour and baking powder with vanilla extract. Divide into paper cases. Into pre/heated oven. In my fan oven, 23 mins at 150 degC.

I have ALWAYS used the following recipe from a very old book, and it has never failed me!

115g butter
115g sugar
2 large eggs
115g SF flour
...in that order!
