What do you cook for weekend lunch with friends including DCs?

Some friends are coming over for lunch on Saturday for the first time since I went back to work. During SAHM days for same friends I would cook spag bol or similar for DCs and grown ups alike. But it feels like I need to do something slightly more interesting for a weekend with DHs lunch, albeit that I want it to be similarly easy... I am cooking for 6 adults (my mum and DSis are here for the weekend too) 3 4yos and a 2yo.

I'm a bit stuck for ideas, can you share yours please?

I'd do a Ottolenghi's lamb shamwarma - dead easy marinade over night and shove in the oven. Serve with pitta, tomato salad, humous. Everyone helps themselves. The meat in the middle won't be seasoned much so it will be fine for the little ones. It will wait without spoiling.

Pulled pork with rolls and coleslaw.

Ooh snowdown - what sort of things are in the marinade? Sounds lovely idea!

Other:
Cold roast chicken, salady bits, pitta bread / roasted mini potatoes

I'm definitely keen on the idea of a meat, pitta, hummus, salad type thing

We had friends stay a week. I did
Mexican...tortillas with chicken, salad, salsa, guacamole, refried beans, rice with kidney beans and corn etc
A roast lamb with potato dauphinoise and blanched asparagus
We did have a pasta night!
We went out for steak one night...
Noodle beef and veg stir fry
Risotto

Ummm....I like Jamie's 15 min meals for inspiration! Happy cooking!

Snowdown - I was going to say pulled pork too. I did that for a geoup of friends in the summer and went down really well. However it could be messy: we were outdoors...
