Tinned tuna: very very bad, or just slightly bad when eaten in industrial quantities by small children

Is there a limit on how much children should eat?
Due to hot weather/ceaseless picnics, offspring have been eating tins of the stuff.
I remember earnesly steering self away from it when PG. Can't now remember exactly why.
Will they grow extra heads or something

I think its only limited for pregnant women as the mercury can harm your developing baby.

I had a look at the Food Standards Agency website and they only mention avoiding shark, swordfish or marlin for babies/children. This is because the levels of mercury in these fish can affect the development of children?s growing nervous systems. It doesnt mention that they should limit tinned tuna so maybe it doesnt contain as high a level of mercury as these other fish.
