We seem to eat the same meals on a sort of 14 day cycle and I'm fed up - can anyone inspire me with some meal ideas, nothing too extravagant, by the time I get in from work that last thing I want to do is spend hours in the kitchen. And nothing to full of fat - I'm always on a diet!

The meals we currently seam to rotate are things like:-

spag bolognaise
chilli
chicken in a cream and grape sauce
pizza & salad
omelette
fajitas
lasagne
spaghetti carbonara
kiev and chips
curry
pasta bake

ideas please......

Mine this week are:
Kedgeree
Sausage, kale and flageolets hotpot
Turkey and sweetcorn meatballs with red pepper sauce and couscous
Garlic and lemon chicken with braised little gem
Smoked salmon and lemon risotto
Spanish roast chicken (with chorizo, lemon and gremolata)
They're fit all my day to day criteria - inexpensive, easy to prepare, and approved of by my 20 month!

My fave unbelievably easy, but a bit different recipes are:
Grilled lamb (or any other meat) brushed with ras el hanout mixed with oil and served with garlic bread and salad or couscous
Mexican bake - cooked chicken, beans, fajita packet mix and tinned tons layered with fajitas and grated cheese a bit like a Mexican lasagne
Emergency pasta - chopped chorizo fried up and tossed over pasta with sundries tomatoes, grated Parmesan, drizzle of olive oil and fresh herbs

ohhh forgotten I'd posted this - thanks for the lists, I've taken a few ideas from them.

My main problem is kids not eating stuff - I'm loated to spend ages making something I know they will turn their noses up at. They eat potatos, pasta, rice and will (begrudgingly) eat noodles but no cous cous, lentils etc.

They are not keen on stews and that kind of - well what I call "traditional" food. Cottage pie etc

they won't eat fish full stop really (and I can't say I blame them!)

I'd like any lamb ideas if possible

I am absolutely LOVING the Mexican bake idea so will be trying that very soon!

Botham burgers are JO's burger recipe.

Pregnant Jools pasta is also courtesy of JO, from his 30min book

They are both very very tasty.

Sorry I copy and pasted that lot without paying much attention Blush

How about lamb koftas in wraps/pittas with salad/veg (we normally do thinly shredded cabbage and red onion and grated carrot), yoghurt and houmous? It's a big fave here and kind of like fajitas if you put bowls of different things out everyone can just take what they want, so no waste/turned up noses!
