Cooking with Smoked Salmon

Feel a bit daft asking this, can you cook smoked salmon/rainbow trout, as in the cured stuff?

The only thing hot I use it for is in pasta dishes with lemon and creme fraiche and garlic.
You could put it in tarts.

yes, it's fine.

have also only done it in pasta, with a creamy sauce. It just, er, cooks!

My mum makes a lovely starter which is half an avocado, a slice of smoked salmon, a spoonful of cream and a bit of salt and pepper. Then it goes in the oven for 10-15 min (I think...)

The end result is lovely.

No reason why not but it will keep its textures and flavour better if you just stir it in at the end c
