Any ideas?

MrsCosmopilite Sun 24-Mar-13 19:45:52

Eat them cold?!

We rarely have left over roasties here smile

InNeedOfBrandy Sun 24-Mar-13 19:46:33

potato salad might work?

notapizzaeater Sun 24-Mar-13 19:46:40

Freeze in foil trays for a quick tea ? Bubble and squeak ?

orderinformation Sun 24-Mar-13 19:47:03

Roast. Not toast. Oops.

I was surprised but had made loads. Not so keen on them cold though.

overmydeadbody Sun 24-Mar-13 19:47:06

We've never had left over roast potatoes here!

Potato salad would work though

StarlightMcKenzie Sun 24-Mar-13 19:47:09

pour on bravas sauce for the next day.

orderinformation Sun 24-Mar-13 19:47:53

Oh bravas sauce yum. How would I make that?

How do you make bubble and squeak?

SanityClause Sun 24-Mar-13 19:49:21

I would never eat them straight out of the fridge, with lots of salt. Absolutely not! shock

auforfoulkesake Sun 24-Mar-13 19:49:49

cold, mmm
or just add to anything.

ivykaty44 Sun 24-Mar-13 19:49:58

slice and fry with a littel oil and garlic and serve with cold meat

or mash into bubble and squeek

auforfoulkesake Sun 24-Mar-13 19:50:29

bubble and squeak is left over cabbage fried with left over potato, a rarity to have left overs in this house, but it is delicious, particularly with a fried egg

out2lunch Sun 24-Mar-13 19:51:03

put cheese on top and melt in microwave - yummy

MotherOfNations Sun 24-Mar-13 19:53:12

I don't mind them cold dipped in mayonnaise. Indians do a roast potato curry that is lovely.

ThePskettiIncident Sun 24-Mar-13 19:54:41

Eat them cold with salad cream!

mrsvilliers Sun 24-Mar-13 19:54:55

I've got a bravas sauce here It's easy and tasty.

SergeantSnarky Sun 24-Mar-13 19:57:14

spanish omelette

HazeltheMcWitch Sun 24-Mar-13 19:59:13

Eat them in a sandwich.
Or a roll.

HappyJustToBe Sun 24-Mar-13 20:00:35

Me neither, Sanity. Would be a terrible thing to do.

RandallPinkFloyd Sun 24-Mar-13 20:06:52

Why on earth would that issue ever arise?
Are you one of those weirdos who has left over wine too?

Can I come round for tea, that'll get rid of the problem for you grin

spilttheteaagain Sun 24-Mar-13 22:28:20

Slice and fry in butter til golden and have with fried eggs. Mmm, dippy yolk and crispy potatoes!

Trills Sun 24-Mar-13 22:32:25

I think now you've written "toast potatoes" you have to eat them on toast.

It's the law.

Bubble 'n squeak with a fried egg on top.

Or fry up with bacon/pancetta, garlic, caraway seeds and savoy cabbage. You could swap the caraway seeds for walnuts. A dollop of brown sauce won't go amiss.

Steam some kale, then fry with pots, garlic. Add walnut sized sausage-meat balls with chopped up prunes. Little bit of apple sauce maybe?

Patatos bravos with chorizo in a garlic and tomato sauce.

Eat them cold, on their own (but dip in salt first).

What ever you do do not add them to soup! I quite often make what I call 'scrap soup' which is usually onions, any older odd carrots or other veg & cooked veg leftovers. Has always been fine until the time I added left over roasties - really weird taste of roast dinner that soup had!

wheredidiputit Mon 25-Mar-13 15:00:23

I freeze them to use in the week for a quick roast dinner for the DC during the week.
