I have nil, zero, nada ideas for dinners! Please share your weekly dinner plans to help me.

I am disabled and have a carer who cooks for me & Ds (3yrs) and I think it's the lack of cooking that has dried up my appetite and ideas... I can't even recall what I used to cook! But I used to cook nice stuff I'm sure, I used to enjoy coming home from work and relaxing pottering in the kitchen... But now, she asks me what I want for dinner and I don't have a clue!

So I really want to shamelessly steal your weeks dinners please?

Not really had a meal plan this week but so far we've had roast lamb shoulder on Sunday, lamb dinner on Monday, lamb curry on tues, stir fry and rice on weds and as I still can't get the the supermarket yet, it will probably be beef stew and dumplings tonight.

Roast chicken legs with stuffing, roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese
Salmon (grilled) with mash and frozen peas
Spag bol
Prawn tikka masala (frozen prawns, jar sauce)
New Delhi Housewife's Choice chicken with rice (frozen leftover takeaway)
HM Pizza
Haddock, white sauce, boiled potatoes, cabbage
Baked ham, carrots, roast potatoes
Roast beef, roast potatoes, roasted root veg (carrots, parsnips, butternut squash, red onion)
Turkey curry (frozen Christmas leftovers in HM sauce)
Turkey in white wine sauce with mushrooms (rest Xmas leftovers)
Pork chops, mash and fried mushrooms (was the plan- massive fail meant DH got burgers and chips on his way home at 9.30 last night)
Chorizo potatoes (bag salad pots, small tub bacon lardons, large handful sliced chorizo and a jar tomato and chilli sauce all stirred together and roasted for an hour - SOOOO easy and delish, creme fraiche takes down heat if needed)

We were visiting my parents and ILs last weekend, hence so many roasties dinners. And we're on a "use up freezer and storecupboard odds and sods" month as well.

wow, maybe i can co me to your houses instead?! thanks for the yummy replies, saving alot of ideas for meals now... think i could do 3-4 week plans and rotate them - anyone else do that or is it too military?!

Heres my attempt at a menu plan, what do you think?

I struggle with how to make it into a plan that doesnt leave loads moldering in the fridge... I had no food so just sent someone with a really long list panic buying probably far too much... next week i need to match up shopping with meals!

Thurs (tonight: salmon, little roast potatoes, and any veg thats left)

Fri: ???
Sat: lemon/ butter gnocchi (read it somewhere on mumsnet!) and greens
Sun: Jamie Oliver chicken pie (has creme fraiche in so will need to use up later in week) and greens
Mon: something clever involving leftovers?!
Tues: curry (ds doesnt like chickpeas which would be my choice... does salmon go into a curry well?)
Wed: homemade pizza (with bacon on it?)
Thurs: pasta & veggies (& possibly creme fraiche? and bacon?)
Fri: salmon, mash & peas (if salmon not in the curry)

what do you think???

Salmon in a curry works for me Smile. I know some people do plans for weeks at a time but I've never been that organised. Why not see how your week works and then see if anything would have worked better?

for curry, does the fish kind of dissolve or stay in chunks? am not keen on the idea of dissolving fish!

Cook the sauce part of the curry first, then add the fish pieces right at the end for just a few minutes to heat/cook through. Stir everything gently once when the fish is still raw. Then it doesn't break up
