Turkey sizes

Can anyone help with turkey sizing? I am a very confused vegetarian, doing Christmas lunch for the first time. There will only be DH, mum and two kids eating it but we would like some leftovers to last a couple of days. M&S are doing a crown to feed between 6 and 10 people, up to 2.5kg which I thought might be a bit big. Waitrose has a crown it says feeds up to 5, also 2.5kg. Obviously it depends on serving sizes but how can one the same size supposedly feed 10? I don't know why I'm stressing, when I won't even be eating the damn thing.

Does anyone else have any idea how to work out the right size to get?

It depends how greedy your family are!! I would buy a little more than you think you require, and go for turkey curry etc in the following days.

If you are vegetarian for ethical reasons, this is a good place to look for your families turkey:

Its expensive, but its because they have (I think) about double the space of the normal free-range requirements. My veggie mum always gets us one of these for xmas. Know its not what you asked but thought you may be interested.
