My two year old ds eats quite well but I would like more variety at lunch that does not take too long to prepare. Any ideas appreciated.

dd has oatcakes with peanut butter and either banana or apple on the side or both if particularly hungry. This is her favourite only lunch she accepts as food

DS likes a plate of picky food- bread and butter/crackers, cucumber, grapes, cheese, maybe some ham/chicken... I can pull out lots from our fridge, shove it on a plate and serve it up as a picnic- he loves it!!

I often do DS a small plate of what we have for dinner the night before if he has had something different (if he has been nursery) Just pop in the microwave and voila!

He has also recently discovered tinned spaghetti ( Blush pregnancy craving of mine!) and he loves it as do I

My ds only eats sandwiches for lunch (cream cheese or houmous only!) with either grated carrot or cucumber. Sometimes he'll have a bit of my soup but not enough to actually make up a bit of lunch! I've actually been add in the food I make for him to a website www.toddler-recipes.co.uk and it's sorted by prep time. You may or may not find it useful!

I have loads of meatballs in the freezer plus tomato sauce so can whip up meatballs quickly.

Roast chicken is quite quick. Chuck drumsticks and halved new potatoes in the oven for 30 mins. Add veg and low salt gravy. Done

My dd is 22 months and lunches she has are

Omelette and steamed veg
Soup and bread and butter
Little picnic of sandwiches, rice cakes, yogurt and a bit of fruit
Hummous, olives, bread, feta
Any of our left overs that i have frozen
Veggie sausages and rice with bits of veg in
Eggy bread
Quorn or chicken stir fry
Pasta and sauce

Trying to think of more. I get bored of doing the same stuff all of the time and have been trying to do something new once a week.

My boy always thinks what I'm eating is tastier than what he's having, so mostly I make extra and we share a plate full. Things like cheese and crackers, sandwiches, eggy bread (guilty pleasure), soup and toast.

If I'm having something spicy I just add lots of creme fraiche to his bit.

If he had his way, he'd have a cheese string then a frube. Needless to say he doesn't get his way very often.

Lots of leftovers frozen into toddler size portions
Scrambled eggs
Avocado half
Quesadillas - he LOVES these, just chuck in whatever is to hand - tuna, sweetcorn, cheese, avocado, spinach, ham etc etc. I always keep a pack of flour tortillas in the freezer for this purpose
Cheese & tuna on toast
Mini baked potato with tuna/cheese etc
Frittata
Peanut butter on toast if I run out of other ideas.
Usually also fruit, or natural yogurt with fruit added, on the side
