We have friends coming over tonight , starter is just some nibbles, main is chicken cooked with mushrooms and a white wine sauce, any ideas please for a simple but yummy dessert?

Microwave syrup pudding but not sure it is dinner party material. It is however, rather yummy, especially with extra golden syrup drizzled over the top once served.

Thanks guys. DH has come to the rescue and made a lime cheesecake as I had zero inspiration or motivation. But thanks for the ideas for the future.

Bread and butter pud - use dark choc instead of raisins and put a shot of liqueur in the eggy mix (framboise is good)

1/3 fill ramekins with choc sponge mix, tsp nutella (or marmalade or raspberry jam) in the middle, fill to 2/3, 15-20 mins at 180*
