What are salycylates (sp)?

DS1 was advised today to avoid salycylates as they may be worsening his aggression. I'm quite keen due to possible broken toe he inflicted (!), however all I know is that they are in OJ, apples and raisins- ie his entire diet! Does anyone have any ideas of where else it is, or what is safe please?

NB: leaflet coming to us but don't want to await RM!

Thanks- whizzz to the rescue again Grin

not entirely sure what foods are left he'll eat! I shall have to be inventive. Dietician said pineapple OK, think he might be about to turn into one!

nulnulcat- exactly how I feel, you keep them off the chocs / colourings /aspartame and crisps then they take away all this!

ds was like this but he has now thankfully grown out of it by and large

i definitely avoided oj as a big culprit

(I cna't spell salycylates either jimjams can)

ds diet was mainly pasta, natural yogurt, tuna, no veg ecept potato

no fruit

chicken
cheese
taramasalta
cucumber
ham
crisps
shreddies

chocolate build up

umm

he has just started eating green undercooked french beans
