Help me set my jelly!

DD's 3rd birthday at the weekend. Our oven is broken so no cake (sob!) but she's happy with rocky road and jelly, but my jelly's always too wobbly to put into a decent mould (I'm hoping on using a big 'castle' bucket as a mould).

I searched on t'internet and firstly got lots of jam making tips (from the US I suppose, having used the words 'jam' and setting. Changed my search to do with 'wobbly jelly' and got a lot of weird sites about managing the size of my vulva. Not quite what I was after Hmm :o Shock.

Do I just reduce the water content? (to my jelly that is!) :o

Use a little less liquid than recommended on the packet and chill the jelly well.

Are you making the jelly from scratch, or from cubes? If from cubes you could buy and add extra gelatine to make it stronger.

ooh, bonne idée northey - I have some gelatine sheets I think, so might add one...

Can just imagine your poor DD chewing away for hours after you get totally carried away with the gelatine ;)
