Catering for a Christening

I'm doing the desserts for a friend's sons Christening and I've decided that since there are 35 adults and 10 kids/toddlers to do mini things you don't need a spoon for like mini cupcakes etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how many 'pieces I'll need per person? Also any cool ideas, I'm thinking a harvest theme as that's what's what's going on the church this weekend apparently.
Thanks!

merange - using cream to put two together. You can do coffee merange with coffee cream and use half icing sugar for squiggy merange.

I have a wonderful recipe for apple cake - comes out with the consisencey of bread pudding and apples are being harvested - here

oh for how many pieces per person - average two and a half, as some will have one and others will have four
