Right, DP declared me obsessed this morning when I started asking if carrot chutney was something he would eat... at 7.15 this morning.

Come and tell me what you are making so I don't feel so wierd!

rushes off to wash jars out

I will be making apple and damson jam tonight before its too late and the damsons are past there best.
I love making preserves too, although I am obsessed with cooking in general not just jam :)
Green tomato and chilli chutney is my fave, always make it in sept/oct when tomato plants are dying off. Yummy with blue cheese and crusty bread! Oh and half a pint of ale Wink

I am slightly chutney obsessive!

My favorites are a spiced plum chutney (with star anise) and a caramelised onion chutney.

Have just been bought a new book and am going to try fruit 'cheese' this year and might branch out into savoury jellies. :)

Twinklegreen any chance of the recipe? The reason I brought it up was I had realised ai had brought 2 k of carrots I don't need!

@fivegomadindorset I have beetroot and ginger chutney "maturing" in the larder.

I have just ordered a couple of movies off amazon to watch while my marrow chutney reduces this weekend while DP is away. Oh the shame!

I'm doing elderberry, blackberry, and crab apple jam tomorrow.

I am always foisting preserves onto family members!

I make Hugh FW's glutney with the courgettes that have gone mad while we're on holiday. And I make marrow and ginger jam from them too.

Just made gooseberry chutney with our glut. Presumably it needs to mature a bit but preliminary tasting was quite positive.

I have lots of red onions from the garden so going to try caramelised onion chutney. Green tomato chutney is still on the go from last year when it was too cold for my tomatoes to ripen. Homemade chutney is far superior to shop bought IMO - yummy!

Oh, can someone give me their recipe for courgette chutney please?

I've been making onion chutney, fig chutney and kiwi chutney. Blackberries are starting to ripen so will do wild blackberry jam soon.

@discrete I am going to try HFG's glutney recipe using just marrows and onions tomorrow (ie replace the plums and apples with more marrow/courgette!).

@basingstoke As someone who appears to have done 'glutney' would that work?

off to eat as much as a can out of jars so they are ready for chutney tomorrow
