hi... have seen a fair few threads and read up on internet but still confused as there are conflicting views...
I have prepared lots of baby purees and have been frozen these and using when needed. i have been heating them by placing straight in a pan and heating until piping hot sometimes with added cooled boiled water if too thick. (I don't have a microwave) Now I am worried that I should be letting it thaw first before heating it... can anybody help!? thank you

Yes you can, as long as you do it carefully enough that the first bit to melt doesn't burn before the rest melts. It will all get to piping hot far too quickly for any bacteria to grow.
