I have 4 that I dont want to throw out, but I have only got plain or bread flour, no butter, no brown sugar and basically haven't got the money/inclination to go to the shop and buy the rest of the ingredients for banana bread. Anyone else got any genius ideas?!
Chop them and put them in the freezer. Once frozen, put in a blender with Greek yogurt and brown sugar and presto! Delicious instant banana ice-cream. Brilliant texture and flavor and also healthy. Try it.
Hi Schtum. Re the instant healthy banana icecream, I just use what I have around. Best sugar is soft brown or caster sugar, not demerara or even granulated as the texture won't be as good. As for the ratio banana to yogurt, I try half and half, roughly.
It helps chopping the bananas up in pieces as it will be easier for the blender to cope with it. Don't defrost them, just blitz the whole thing up, serve and enjoy the compliments!
Hi there I'll dig out the recipe book tomorrow where I wrote it down. I'm quite excited- this will be my first recipe I'll have posted on here it's an authentic one too, given to mE by a Malaysian friend at university 10 years ago
