Tips for a fledgling baker.......

Can anyone help me please? I have recently been given a Cookworks Breadmaker xb1128 but no instructions or recipe book! It is shiny and new and begging to be used. As I haven't made bread using a breadmaker before I have no idea where to start!

Does anyone have the same/ similar breadmaker?

Can I be cheeky and get the recipe for basic bread to get me started .....er and maybe tip on what buttons to press (after ON!)

I figure I should be able to take things from there.

Thank You!!!!!

I just Googled it and found this Cookworks manuals. Don't know if it's of any help.

Most breadmakers are very similar so here is a recipe for a large Basic White to start you off, cos I can tell how excited you are to get cooking.Grin For best results you must use strong bread flour that is very fresh otherwise the loaf will not rise properly. Ordinary plain or SR flour will make a loaf similar to a house brick!

Ingredients for a 2-lb loaf:
1 1/2 cups (375 mls) tepid water
4 1/4 cups (675 gms) white bread flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons butter melted and left to cool
2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Directions:
Add ingredients to the pan in the same order as above. Select Basic setting and start. When baking cycle ends, remove bread and place on a rack. Let cool to room temperature before slicing.

There are loads of recipes here and here
