This is the first year I'm going to have a go at a shaped cake! DS1 has requested a steam train. I was thinking of making two cakes in loaf tins but now I'm wondering if I'd be better off making a big square cake to cut up and stick together. Would sponge cake in loaf tins rise? Can anyone give me an idea of how I'd need to adapt the cooking times or quantities? Thanks!
