Well I'm waiting for someone to do William I (Normans), after having read his tragic story, honestly people would have you believe he truly is a total arseh*le,

however his younger years may have been totally exciting and exhilarating but his later years,

with the death of his oldest, beloved son and the back stabbing of his younger children and the way he died would make compelling viewing in the hands of the right director.

There's a film version of Shakespeare's Richard II in the made-for-TV BBC series (played by Derek Jacobi)

Likewise the Henry VI plays (Peter Benson?)

Also based on Shakespeare:

Henry IV - John Geilgud in Chimes at Midnight

William IV (Jim Broadbent) appears in the recent Emily Blunt film 'Young Victoria'

There was a TV series about Edward VII (Timothy West)

There should be a film about the Battle of Hastings (which would cover Harold, William I & possibly Edward the Confessor) but sadly there isn't

I wonder why there hasn't been a film about 1066 and the Battle of Hastings? It's a great story.
