Fasting / 5:2 diet

Starting 5:2 today, anyone want to join?

As title says, starting 5:2 for the first time. Planning to have ultrameal shakes on my fast days as they have everything you need in them and it seems less hassle than planning 500 calorie meals. I think I'll be allowed to have two shakes but I'll spread them over the day so it acts like 4 'meals'. Planning to fast on Mondays and Thursday's. Got about a stone to lose and would be happy with any sustainable weight loss in the first instance!

Hi I'm restarting 5:2 today after a year away. Mondays and either Wednesday or Thursday. This week Monday and Wednesday. I lost 2 stone the first time and have put most of it back on but I felt so good last time and know I can do it.
I am trying to fast for as long as possible today- living on tea, water and vegetable bouillon. I have 2 x hard boiled eggs on hand for the evening as past experience shows that a protein hit early evening (and an early night) is the way to go. Good luck to us and any others stating today!

Thanks for joining! Wow That was a great result. How long did it take to start seeing results and how long did you do it for? I'm not sure how to spread my shakes throughout the day. Might have tea for now and then a shake at lunch and dinner (I think I'll be allowed two). I assume it's better to have them as meals rather than slowly taking them throughout the day as your not giving your body a rest?

I lost 2 stone over about a year. Started seeing results pretty quickly. Really learnt to stave off eating for as long as possible in the day to give body a rest. Also tried to be as busy as possible on fast days. I have fast buddy who sends me encouraging texts too! Gotta go but will check back later-good luck!

How have you got on? I've stuck it out by drinking tea most of the day-plus some sugar free gum and a couple of bouillon drinks. I'm trying to do a complete fast today. On Wednesday I have a more strenuous day so will need to take some soup to work . I feel a bit lonely on this thread-should we join the main one?

Yes sure lets join the main one, is that the Michael Mosley one? I've done ok. Just had my ultrameal shake at lunch (200 calories) and can have another 1.5 servings tonight. Didn't realise the time actually I better have it!

Well I was ravenous at 8 so had a salad and small tin of tuna- about 100 cals so done OK! I think there's a main ongoing 5:2 thread . Looking forward breakfast tomorrow!
